The College of Information Technology (CIT) held a Digital Literacy Training for the Barangay Health Workers (BHW) of San Fernando
La Union last September 26 – 30 in Room 103, CIT Building.
The five-day training seminar was supervised by CIT Instructors Robert Liwag, Joseph Patacsil, Alvin Malicdem, Dannilyn U. Macato,
Marylen Rodriguez, and Marydel Carrera. The extension service was headed by Dr. Eleanor Cynthia V. Nisperos, MLUC Extension Head;
Mrs. Perla Vanessa L. Sobrepeńa, BSIT Chaiperson; Dr. Eduardo C. Corpuz, CIT Dean; and Dr. Paulito C. Nisperos, MLUC Chancellor.
The training focused on how the participants cope with the knowledge, skills, and behaviors used in a broad range of digital devices such
as smartphones, tablets, laptops and desktop PCs which are seen as network rather than computing devices. Internet, e-mail, Facebook,
and Tech4ed Platform were also discussed by the chosen speakers. TheBHW were also instructed to be able to use Microsoft
Office particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
